A company can appear active yet still face problems issuing invoices, obtaining certificates or completing contracts. Identify the actual source of the issue before paying amounts or submitting returns at random.

Locate each outstanding matter

Issues can sit with Receita Federal, state or municipal authorities, the registration body or unfiled obligations. Activity classification, registrations and operating licences may need to be reviewed together.

  • Missing tax or accounting returns.
  • Debts and their current administrative position.
  • Inconsistent state or municipal registrations.
  • Licences that do not match the activity.
  • Activity codes that differ from the actual operation.

Prioritize the operational need

The issue preventing today’s invoicing may differ from what blocks a certificate for financing. A documented review separates operational, tax and registration tasks and identifies dependencies between them.

Avoid partial fixes

Paying a debt does not necessarily resolve missing returns, and changing an activity code does not automatically complete municipal licensing. Record each action, protocol, responsible party and requirement still outstanding.

The scope should identify historical reconstruction and amendments separately from the future monthly routine. Processing and certificate issuance depend on the facts and competent authorities.
